Before CBS broadcasts the 72nd annual Tony Awards at 8 PM June 10, the network will celebrate the iconic musical theatre duo of Richard Rodgersand Oscar Hammerstein II on CBS Sunday Morning.

The Sunday segment from Mo Rocca will explore some of the composing team's works that have become staples in the musical theatre canon. Also featured will be author Todd Purdum, the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization's Ted Chapin, and Tony winner Kelli O'Hara.

"I don't remember having to learn them; I just always knew them," O'Hara says of the team's catalog in the preview clip above. "It was like my second language in a way." The actor won her Tony Award for Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I and will return to the musical in an upcoming West End bow; her connection to the pair also includes performances in South Pacific and Carousel.

The current Broadway production of Carousel is up for 11 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical. Additionally, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! celebrated its 75th anniversary earlier this year; an acclaimed production from Bard SummerScape will play an Off-Broadway engagement at St. Ann's Warehouse in the fall.

That's so cool that Kelli O'Hara grew up with Rodgers and Hammerstein! I love how classic musicals stick with you. Speaking of classics, I've been playing FNAF 3 online free lately—it's a fun throwback too.

Really enjoyed reading this post about Kelli O’Hara and her connection to Rodgers and Hammerstein — it’s always fascinating to see how classic Broadway influences continue to shape modern performers. The way her artistry was described really brings out her respect for musical theatre history. I recently came across a similar discussion on a review blog sports chiropractor toronto, and it offered an interesting perspective on creativity and inspiration as well.
