Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas' new musical Days of Wine and Roses has set a world premiere at Off-Broadway's Atlantic Theater Company, with performances scheduled to begin May 5 and continue through June 25. A date for opening night is to be announced.
Tony winner Kelli O'Hara and Brian d'Arcy James will lead the cast as Kirsten and Joe, respectively, with Michael Greif at the helm. The story follows a love affair between an executive and a secretary and their attempts to get past their shared alcoholism.
Adapted from the 1962 film and a 1958 teleplay, Days of Wine and Roses is somewhat of a Light in the Piazza reunion. Guettel and Lucas previously collaborated on the 2005 musical, with Guettel winning Tony Awards for his score and orchestrations, and Lucas receiving a Tony nod for his book. O'Hara starred and was Tony-nominated for her performance as Clara.
The production will feature scenic design by Lizzie Clachan, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Kai Harada, and orchestrations by Guettel. Kim Grigsby will serve as music director, with Antoine Silverman as music contractor. Casting is by The Telsey Office, and Judith Schoenfeld will be production stage manager.
The production is being presented in association with Alchemation and Mark Cortale, indicating a commercial transfer may be in the works.
Tickets will go on sale February 2.

What heartening news for Broadway musical fans! The return of Kelli O'Hara and Brian d'Arcy James, with Michael Greif directing, promises a truly heartfelt performance. The story of love and the journey to overcome alcoholism is a profound and challenging theme. Adapting a classic work and bringing it to the stage requires absolute precision and control in every note and line of dialogue. Mastering this performance needs finesse, just like accurately controlling the rhythm in a Geometry Dash level! I am extremely excited to see it!
That seminar on “Housing integrates, housing separates: Comparing property and society in Singapore and Hong Kong” sounds incredibly insightful. It’s fascinating how housing policies can shape not just urban development but also social connections and divisions within communities. Discussions like these show how deeply economics and culture are intertwined. Similarly, when it comes to sharing valuable research or ideas through writing, many wonder about the cost to publish a book, as publishing can be a significant step in bringing such thought-provoking topics to a wider audience.
What a riveting deep dive into the new musical starring Kelli O'Hara and Brian d'Arcy James reading it made me remember the many nights I sat with my own dissertation, brimming with ideas but struggling to make them cohere. In that moment I knew I needed extra support, so I reached out for an academic editing service not to hand over my voice, but to walk beside the draft, help tighten the transitions, clarify the structure, and let the work finally perform the way I always knew it could.
I really liked this post it shows how much dedication and preparation go into creating something meaningful. It reminded me of how nursing students prepare for their exams, where focus and consistency are key to success. Getting support from a TEAS Exam Help Service can make that process smoother by helping students organize their study plan and build confidence, much like rehearsing helps performers deliver their best on stage.
